Painting
& life seem to have been much busier than usual these days, even though I'm
really doing much of the same stuff. And
that’s why I haven’t blogged for the longest time!
As
a blogger I fear writing the first post after a break. What should I say? Should
I fill you in with every little detail from the last four months? Well, maybe
just some…
Back
in February, because of the delay waiting to jury for the Circle Craft Summer
Market, I decided to go ahead and jury for the Harmony Arts Festival (HAF) instead.
The Circle Craft Summer Market,
which takes place outdoors at Jack Poole Plaza in downtown Vancouver, starts
tomorrow, and I’m happy to be going as a spectator.
On April 21st I got the news that I was not chosen to
participate in the HAF in August. I had
10 cow paintings finished with 20 more planned. I stopped painting and prepared
for the North Shore Art Crawl on April 26-27. It was a great weekend, and it was
so nice to meet new faces and have some sign up for my card making workshops.
Because I didn’t get into HAF, I’m starting a new adventure. On
Sunday, August 3rd and August 10th, I will be selling my
art at the Ambleside Farmers Market - which is actually held on the street right
beside the HAF.
My new 10ft x 10ft white tent arrived today. My husband
made me a portable painting display. We’re getting prints, and calendars, and greeting
cards prepped and packaged. My paintings are being bubble wrapped and everything
(knock on wood) is coming together nicely! And for the weather, well from past
years it’s usually a sunny hot weekend and I’m looking forward to that!
If you’re around West Vancouver on August 3 or 10 - be sure to
stop by and say hello!
